- You should check for “0” (zero) and “O” (letter) “1”(one) “l” (letter) mix ups when inputting the serial number. Make sure you are using proper capitalization as the serial number is case-sensitive. Other things to note: make sure you company name fits in applicable field.

If you get this failure notice do the following:
1. Open up My Computer and navigate to your hard-drive
2. Open up Program files folder, and find Microsoft SQL Directory.
3. Delete the folder MSSQL$PG_DB2 from the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL directory!
4. Try installing again.
- 8. During installation, I get error 1904 that mentions a file starting with FX.
- This is not really an error. It is just stating that Fax services are not enabled. You can select OK and on page 29 in your manual are instructions for enabling fax services at another time.
- 9. What is the Ultimate Data Source?
- The Ultimate Data Source (UDS) is the special ProfitGrabber feature that allows you access to the largest database of property records in the United States. Subscribing to UDS will enable you to determine the Fair Market Value of any property in matter of seconds. The two features supported by UDS are the Comps search and the Property Profile search. The Comps search is used to determine the Fair Market Value of a property. A single search will return up to 50 comparable sales for the subject property, based on your search criteria. The Property Profile search will return up to 40 data elements for the property you are searching for. Some data elements are: owners names; previous sold price; previous sold date, square footage, lot size, type of the property, use code, zoning info, tax assessed value, tax district, mortgages at the time of transfer, etc.
The UDS subscription is optional, and it is not required to run ProfitGrabber. However, it is highly recommended since it will help you avoid mistakes, or lose opportunities by not having the accurate and immediate knowledge of the property value and its ownership.
- 10. When and how do I subscribe to Ultimate Data Source?
- After you complete your installation, the ProfitGrabber will automatically open your Internet browser. The web page that comes up will guide you through the few simple steps in subscription process.
- 11. Where does the Ultimate Data Source get its data?
- The data is sourced from a few largest property data providers in the country. The same data providers used by ProfitGrabber are used by title companies and major banks. The date is constantly updated and verified, so you can make informed decisions about any property you are considering investing in.
- 12. How do I cancel my data subscription (UDS)?
- If a need arises that you decide to cancel your subscription to Ultimate Data Source, you would just send us a written notice. The service will then terminate on the last day of the selected subscription plan cycle (3, 6 or 12 months cycle) in which the written notice of your cancellation is received. There will be no refunds on services already paid for.
- 13. Can I install ProfitGrabber on more than one computer?
- As all enterprise level software, the ProfitGrabber is designed to be installed on one computer only in order to prevent unauthorized use. In case you need to move it from one computer to another, just contact our support department to reset your serial number. That will allow you to use the same serial number again. Your serial number can be used for one installation at the time, and your ProfitGrabber system frequently checks the validity of it.
- 14. I need ProfitGrabber installed on two computers, what do I do?
- We always suggest that you install it on one computer first, and then once you start using it you can acquire additional licenses or copies. If your computers are networked, you can just purchase a network license for each additional computer (up to 5 total).
To inquire or purchase an additional license(s) in order for multiple computers to access the ProfitGrabber on the same network, as well as individual extra copies for computers that are not on the same network, please call our sales department at 1-866-598-2030.
- 15. What is the cost per network license or for an extra copy?
- The network version/license is $485 per client. If you already own ProfitGrabber and desire to purchase an extra copy, our sales department will give you substantial discount.
- 16. What is the Network Version?
- As described above, the network version is meant for running ProfitGrabber on multiple computers on the same network. The way it works is that everyone works off the same database and therefore all information is available to all client computers. You must have a full original license and an added license for each computer you want it to run on. This is the setup Marko uses in his office and he recommends it as soon as you hire your first assistant.
- 17. Does the network version have to be on a server?
- There is NO need to have a server/central computer. The ProfitGrabber can be installed on any computer in your network and then that computer will act as a server for this purpose. All ‘client’ computers will just need access to that computer and its database. It is recommended that you install the main ProfitGrabber to a computer that will most often run ProfitGrabber. This way the ProfitGrabber access the database on the same computer most of the time and your network traffic is minimized.
- 18. Network Version question: Can there be more then one person looking at the same contact?
- Yes. The network version allows all clients to view but if two people are in the same contact, the second person in will only be able to view (read-only until the first person exits that particular contact).
- 19. Can I have an out of office assistant use ProfitGrabber that is in my office?
- Yes! You could use a remote desktop service like LogMeIn.com or GotoMyPC.com for simple remote access to your office machine. For a more elaborate multi user setup, you can have multiple empoyees connect to the same centralized Profitgrabber that you or your assistant use in the office over what is known as a VPN (Virtual Private Network) - that way all the data is in the same database. This can be done via an "in office" or "out-of-office" network. You need to purchase a network license ($485) for each network installation. Click here to learn how to set up connection if your assistant is OUT of office.
